How You’ll Study

You will study primarily through Magpie Training’s Moodle e-learning platform. Moodle gives you access to learning resources, assessment activities, feedback and assessor support.

In addition, you can work through the qualification around your employment and other commitments. Learners who prefer a traditional approach can also complete a paper-based portfolio.

How You’ll Be Assessed

You will build a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate your understanding of the qualification content. For example, evidence may include written assignments, structured tasks and questions and answers.

Your Magpie Training assessor will provide guidance and feedback throughout the programme. Once you have produced sufficient valid evidence, your assessor will confirm that you have met the qualification requirements.

No Workplace Placement Required

This is a knowledge-based qualification, so you do not need to be employed in a care setting or complete workplace observations in order to achieve it. This makes it suitable for both people already working within health, social care or education and those looking to develop their knowledge before progressing into relevant employment or further study.

Studying from anywhere in the UK?

You do not need to be based near Magpie Training. Our regulated qualifications can be supported nationally through Moodle, regular assessor contact and planned workplace evidence.

Who is this Qualification For?

This qualification is suitable for learners who want to increase their knowledge and understanding of autism at Level 3.

It is particularly relevant to people working, or looking to work, within healthcare, social care, education, early years, leisure or voluntary settings where an understanding of autism and effective support approaches is beneficial.

There are no specific prior qualification requirements, although NCFE advises that learners may find it helpful to have already achieved a related Level 2 qualification.

Successful completion can support progression into employment across sectors including healthcare, social care, education, early years and voluntary services.

Learners may also progress to qualifications including the Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care, Level 4 Diploma in Adult Care, Level 3 Diploma in Healthcare Support, qualifications in residential childcare and supporting teaching and learning, or other higher-level study.
