Learning is delivered primarily through Magpie Training’s Moodle e-learning platform, giving you access to your programme, learning resources, assessment activities, feedback and assessor support online.
You can work through your qualification flexibly around your employment and other commitments. Learners who prefer a more traditional approach can also complete a paper-based portfolio.
Assessment is completed through a portfolio of evidence demonstrating your understanding of the qualification content. This may include written assignments, structured tasks, questions and answers and other appropriate knowledge-based evidence.
Your allocated Magpie Training assessor will provide guidance and feedback throughout the programme and will confirm when sufficient valid evidence has been provided to meet the qualification requirements.
This is a knowledge-based qualification, so you do not need to be employed in a care setting or complete workplace observations in order to achieve it. This makes it suitable for both people already working within health, social care or education and those looking to develop their knowledge before progressing into relevant employment or further study.
Studying from anywhere in the UK?
You do not need to be based near Magpie Training. Our regulated qualifications can be supported nationally through Moodle, regular assessor contact and planned workplace evidence.
This qualification is suitable for learners who want to develop their understanding of end of life care.
It is particularly relevant to people working, or intending to work, within health and social care, and to existing workers who want to strengthen their knowledge of supporting individuals with life-limiting conditions.
