Develop essential emergency response skills through practical, face-to-face training designed to help healthcare professionals recognise deterioration, respond to cardiac emergencies and deliver effective immediate life support.
About This Course
Our Immediate Life Support (ILS) training helps healthcare professionals develop the knowledge and practical skills needed to respond confidently to serious medical emergencies.
First, our trainers explain the key steps involved in basic life support. Next, they demonstrate essential techniques and give learners opportunities to practise their skills.
Next, learners explore effective resuscitation techniques, airway management principles and the importance of early defibrillation.
Throughout the course, participants examine emergency communication, teamwork and the responsibilities of individuals responding to cardiac emergencies.
In addition, practical demonstrations and simulated scenarios help learners develop confidence when working as part of an emergency response team.
This course is designed for nurses, healthcare professionals and clinical support staff who may need to respond to medical emergencies as part of their role.
It is particularly relevant to those working in hospitals, clinical services and other healthcare environments.
During the course, learners explore the following essential skills:

Throughout the course, our trainers use practical activities, demonstrations and discussions, where appropriate, to support learning and check understanding.
Upon successful completion of the training, each learner will receive a certificate issued by Magpie Training Ltd.
Employers can then use these certificates as evidence of completed staff training. They can also support continuing professional development (CPD) records.
