Develop essential lifesaving skills through practical, face-to-face training. Our experienced trainers help learners build the knowledge and confidence to respond to emergencies.
About This Course
Our Basic Life Support (BLS) course helps learners recognise life-threatening emergencies and take safe, prompt action.
First, our trainers explain the key steps involved in basic life support. Next, they demonstrate essential techniques and give learners opportunities to practise their skills.
As a result, learners can develop their confidence and respond more effectively while waiting for emergency services.
We can also tailor the training to suit different workplaces, including health and social care settings.
This course is suitable for anyone wishing to develop or refresh their basic life support skills.
You do not need previous experience to attend. In addition, employers can arrange training for groups of staff.
During the course, learners explore the following essential skills:
● Recognising an unresponsive person and responding safely
● Assessing responsiveness and breathing
● Calling for emergency assistance
● Performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
● Understanding and using an automated external defibrillator (AED)
● Managing choking emergencies
● Placing an unconscious but breathing person in the recovery position
● Understanding personal safety and infection prevention during resuscitation
Our experienced trainers deliver face-to-face sessions through clear explanations, practical demonstrations and supervised exercises.
In addition, learners take part in group discussions and practical activities. These activities help them build confidence and develop essential skills.
We can arrange group training at your workplace or another suitable venue. Before the session, we will confirm the course duration, group size and delivery arrangements.
Throughout the course, our trainers use practical activities, demonstrations and discussions, where appropriate, to support learning and check understanding.
Upon successful completion of the training, each learner will receive a certificate issued by Magpie Training Ltd.
Employers can then use these certificates as evidence of completed staff training. They can also support continuing professional development (CPD) records.
Give your team the knowledge and confidence to respond appropriately in an emergency.
We offer flexible training arrangements for workplace groups. Furthermore, we can tailor the sessions to suit your organisation’s needs.
